The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a high wind watch... which is in effect from late tonight through Thursday morning.
The high wind watch includes Cape Cod... Marthas Vineyard... Nantucket and Block Island.
West winds will increase rapidly late tonight as low pressure tracks away from southern New England.
Damaging wind gusts as high as 60 mph are possible on Cape Cod and the islands... especially between 3 am and 10 am Thursday. These winds may be strong enough to bring down trees... large branches and power lines. Be prepared for power outages.
